Childhood Pornography Exposed!

This week, Exodus Cry launched its latest animated video as a part of its new campaign, Protect Children Not Porn, highlighting the danger posed to children by porn exposure, the entities involved in perpetuating this crisis, and what needs to change.

The campaign is calling for required age verification, with government ID, on all sites hosting pornographic content in order to protect children from porn exposure. So far, the petition has over 40,000 signatures and is supported by over 100 anti-trafficking, women’s rights, and child protection organizations, and a coalition representing over 2000 organizations.

The campaign highlights how kids ages 10-15 are five times more likely to exhibit sexually aggressive behavior if violent porn is consumed, how children addicted to hardcore porn have an increased likelihood of committing sexual harassment and rape, and how girls exposed are at a greater risk for sexual victimization.

With no age restrictions on most sites hosting pornographic content, these sites are allowing kids unlimited access to videos of graphic and degrading sex acts, and most kids are first exposed without intentionally searching for this material. The most easily accessible porn sites are full of hardcore, often violent, porn and this material has become sex education for many children.

To date, Exodus Cry has received hundreds of stories from people detailing the traumatizing and damaging experience of early exposure to porn. In the video, one boy shares, “Before I had a date with a girl, before I held hands or had my first kiss, I was watching graphic sexual content as a six-year-old boy.” Another girl shared with us that after her boyfriend knocked her unconscious and raped her, he said, “It’s just BDSM, look it up, girls love to get raped and threatened with death.” This video represents the tip of the iceberg of the untold millions of children who are exposed to porn, many of whom will never have their story heard.

CEO and Founder of Exodus Cry, Benjamin Nolot, said, “We need Big Porn and Big Tech to be held accountable for their reckless disregard of the safety of our children. Our hope is that this video and campaign will provoke people to join the growing movement demanding age verification, with ID, on all sites that host porn. We have to do more.”

Exodus Cry’s previous animated video release, “Pornhub Exposed as #Traffickinghub,” went viral, receiving 34 million views across multiple social platforms. The #Traffickinghub campaign caught the attention of hundreds of media outlets and Pornhub deleted 10 million videos, about 80% of their content. Over 2 million people from 192 countries signed the Traffickinghub petition to shut down the world’s largest porn site, Pornhub, for their complicity in child sexual abuse, trafficking, and rape.{eoa}
