Dream Diet: Man Drops 150 Pounds Eating at Chick-Fil-A 5 Times a Week
Chick-fil-A gets better with each story. A college student now credits the chicken joint with his weight-loss success, along with regular exercise, that is.
“I am from rural Texas where most people like to eat, and I do mean EAT. For nine months, beginning when I was 18 years old and in college (I am now 22), I ate at my local Chick-fil-A in College Station, Texas for lunch and for dinner at least 5 times each week,” Alton Ward posted to the Chick-fil-A website.
“I would order selections such as Salads and Wraps, Chick-n-Strips, small Waffle Fries, and my absolute favorite item—the Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich with 10 pickles,” he said.
Ward dropped from 352 to 180 and has maintained his weight for the last three years.
“Consuming moderate portions from the restaurant and exercising at least 4 times each week, I was able to drop the weight and keep it off. I am no longer morbidly obese and I have been at my current weight for over three years. I know the obesity struggle, but I also know what it takes to triumph. I will live the rest of my life as a living testimony to hard work and dedication, always willing and wanting to help others, particularly America’s kids, to live healthy and vibrant lives—and to eat at Chick-fil-A—my absolute favorite place,” Ward said.
As much as he loves that juicy chicken, Ward says his success wasn’t all about the restaurant. Adding in regular exercise and portion control contributed to the weight loss, as well.
But it wasn’t all nuggets all the time.
For breakfast, he would have two boiled eggs with oatmeal, Business Insider reports. Then if he went to Chick-fil-A for lunch, he would have a grilled chicken wrap. When it was colder, he’d get soup. He’d often get salads, but with a little bit of ranch dressing on the side.
Ward’s Facebook page is now chock-full of healthy posts, including pictures of treadmills and basketball games.
Just goes to show Chick-fil-A is needed in every healthy lifestyle.
