Faith-Filled Actor Announces Separation From His Wife
Faith-filled actor Chris Pratt announced his separation from wife Anna Faris.
“Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another,” Pratt posted to his Facebook page.
Pratt and Faris were married for eight years and have one son, Jack, who was born prematurely. When Jack was born nine weeks early, Pratt says it restored his faith.
“We prayed a lot,” he said after Jack’s birth. “It restored my faith in God—not that it needed to be restored—but it really redefined it.
Since Jack was born, Pratt’s been incredibly open about his personal relationship with Jesus.
He told Vanity Fair about the moment God reached out to him through another man. He also carried his own cross and shared the experience on Instagram.
Above all, the actor says, he takes comfort in Philippians 4:13, which is inscribed on a dump tray he takes with him everywhere:
So my brother, @cullypratt makes these awesome pocket dump trays. We all need a place to throw our wallets, keys, cell-phones, lighters, pistols or whatever else we keep in your pocket so you know exactly where it is the next day. Well he wanted to make me one and asked me what I wanted on it. I went for the usual Chris answer, American bald eagle smoking a cigar, holding a machine gun and an American flag whirling all bad (expletive) in the wind maybe with some nunchucks or something,” Pratt says. “So I thought about this great Bible verse, Philippians 4:13, which I’ve relied on for strength from time to time. And he knocks this thing out in like a day! Reclaimed wood and a wood-burner. All by hand. He does all kinds of awesome art stuff, and I’m proud of him. He’s so awesome and you should follow him. He’s a unique individual and my best friend.
Pray for the couple during this time.
