Huckabee Equates Democrats Governing to Arsonists Fighting Fire

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee can’t think of one instance where Democrats are “really nailing it.” In a recent interview with Fox Business, Huckabee lamented the long list of Democratic failures, and he compared reelecting any Democrat to “hiring a convicted arsonist to be your fire chief.”

Citing the worsening economy, the rising crime, the chaos at the border and the botched removal of troops from Afghanistan, Huckabee says that people are surprised that one political party can be so bad at governing.

“These were supposed to be the adults. Remember?” Huckabee asks. Then he paraphrases the Democrat election pitch by saying, “In the last election in 2020, ‘We gotta get the adults back in the room. We have to have the professionals.'”

He continues, “Well, if this is what ‘adults’ and ‘professionals’ do, let’s bring out the amateurs and the kids cuz they did a heck of a lot better.”

When the issue of Trump’s abrasive personality is addressed, Huckabee agrees that Trump could be rather contentious, but he says, “Joe Biden is also abrasive and contentious. How many times has he yelled at a reporter? How many times has he shown a level of disrespect to the reporter by calling them an expletive, in a microphone no less?”

The now infamous moment involved Peter Doocy, a reporter for Fox News, asking Biden a question about inflation. Biden responded by muttering, “That’s a great asset, more inflation. What a stupid [expletive].”

Huckabee then quoted Biden: “Joe Biden said that anyone who showed disrespect to the press would be fired ‘on the spot.’ He repeated, ‘On the spot,'” says Huckabee. “I’m just waiting for him to fire himself, his press secretary, and the biggest part of his staff.”

From Biden accusing border agents of whipping illegal immigrants before the claims were thoroughly investigated to the implementation of the Orwellian Disinformation Governance Board, Huckabee believes Biden and the Democratic Party refuse to acknowledge the constitutional role of government, and that’s why they can’t govern effectively.
