‘Jesus Calling’ Dominates Top-Selling Christian Books of 2012

Sarah Young’s 2004 devotional, Jesus Calling, dominated the best-selling Christian books of 2012, according to the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA).

The association’s Top 50 Christian Best-Seller titles listing for last year, based exclusively on sales from Christian retailers, also included: 2. Be a Better Dad Today!, Gregory Slayton; 3. Heaven Is for Real, Todd Burpo; 4. Jesus Calling, Young, (large print deluxe edition); 5. The Harbinger, Jonathan Cahn; 6. Jesus Calling, Young, (deluxe edition); 7. Not a Fan, Kyle Idleman; 8. One Thousand Gifts, Ann Voskamp; 9. The Jesus Storybook Bible, Sally Lloyd-Jones; and 10. The 5 Love Languages, Gary Chapman.

The publishers’ group also released a Top 50 multi-channel best-sellers list, which were: 1. Heaven Is for Real; 2. Jesus Calling; 3. The Harbinger; 4. Not a Fan; 5. One Thousand Gifts; 6. The Jesus Storybook Bible; 7. Jesus Today, Young; 8. Jesus Calling for Kids, Young; 9. The 5 Love Languages; and 10. Heaven Is for Real for Kids, Burpo.

“We congratulate all the authors and publishers on these lists for their tremendous success in the marketplace this past year,” said ECPA president and CEO Mark Kuyper. “Nowhere is our mission more evident—to make the transforming Christian message more widely known—than in the sales success of these excellent titles.”

Top authors of 2012 were Young, Max Lucado, Burpo, Karen Kingsbury and Joyce Meyer. The ECPA best-seller lists are compiled using PubTrack sales data from retail stores and websites across the U.S.
