Jonathan Cahn’s Prophetic Feature Film Mesmerizes Audiences Nationwide

Barbara Holland admits that she wasn’t familiar with Jonathan Cahn and his prophetic books prior to Thursday night’s premier of Cahn’s feature film, The Harbingers of Things to Come. In fact, she says she had never heard the term “harbinger” before.

But now that she has seen the movie — at the invitation of a church friend — she’s intrigued about the prophetic significance of the film and wants to dig deeper into what she saw on the screen.

“It certainly provokes you to think, and you need to put all of the pieces together,” says Holland, a member of Orlando Calvary Assembly in Winter Park, Florida. “I came here not having any idea of what to expect. I feel like I’ve been shot out of a cannon. It’s going to take a while to process it all.”

The film, produced by Charisma Media and distributed by Fathom Events, was shown in more than 800 theaters nationwide Thursday night, including three in the Orlando area. It is an extension of Cahn’s books The Harbinger (Charisma House, 2012) and The Harbinger II (Charisma House, 2021). For years Cahn has been waiting to reveal certain prophetic images about the divine judgment of America, and the film unlocked the answers to these mysteries.

Holland says she didn’t realize that Isaiah 9:10, the staple scripture of The Harbinger, carried with it such a prophetic connotation. And many others might not recognize the significance of it either. It’s a prophecy that parallels ancient Israel’s fall to God’s judgments that are currently falling on America.

But Cahn says that people need to read the previous passage in Isaiah 9:8-9 (MEV) to understand the entire context:

“The Lord sent a word against Jacob, and it falls upon Israel. All the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in the pride and stoutness of heart …”

And then, Isaiah 9:10 (MEV):

“The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.”

The key words are “pride and stoutness of heart.” The ancient Israelites moved forward with that attitude and, after 9/11, so has America.

Many in the theater in Altamonte Springs, Florida, Thursday night sat mesmerized as the prophecies and mysteries in the film unfolded.

Dana Renaux of Apopka, Florida, says she’s an avid reader of Cahn’s books, but some things the film unveiled were a surprise to her. For example, she wasn’t aware that John Winthrop, the former governor of the Province of Massachusetts Bay Colony, owned his own private island in Massachusetts, where the foundation of America was laid. Back in the 1600s, Winthrop prophesied of both blessings for America if it stayed loyal to God and judgment that would come upon it if it strayed from its worship of God.

In the film, Cahn revealed that the island that Winthrop had formerly owned was the site of Logan Airport — the place where the airplane that hit the north tower of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001 — took off.

“That was a wow moment for me,” Renaux said. “That was very surprising to discover all of that. I also didn’t know that the Hope Tree at ground zero had withered and died. It was also fascinating to discover that Jonathan Cahn was an atheist at one time. I didn’t know that; it was a big surprise.

“I’ve done a five-year study of the Book of Revelation, and I think all of this puts more things together. The way he put dates and times together. Extremely interesting.”

The Hope Tree, which replaced the sycamore tree at ground zero two years after 9/11, has since died. Cahn says that is a prophetic sign of a nation’s demise.

Holland’s husband, Richard, says he isn’t much of an avid reader, but he now wants to read The Harbinger and its sequel to put everything he saw Thursday night into better perspective.

“It’s amazing how all of these pieces of the puzzle have fallen together,” Richard says. “It’s amazing how he saw all of this. Watching this movie makes me want to dig into all of the details of the books. I’m in.”

Following the main portion of the film, a short bio of Cahn and his life leading up to the release of the movie is shown onscreen.

For those who did not have the opportunity to see The Harbingers of Things to Come Thursday night, a second showing of the film will take place next Thursday in the same 800 locations. You can purchase your tickets at fathomevents.com. {eoa}
