Mormon-Owned Marriott Continues Push for Homosexuality
The Marriott Hotel chain is actively promoting homosexual lifestyles through its #LoveTravels campaign.
Marriott launched the campaign last year, seeming to throw its Mormon foundation to the wind. The company even offers gay lifestyle packages, including wedding destinations and local activities.
Chairman J.W. “Bill” Marriott is vocal about his support for gay marriage, claiming the belief is separate from his personal faith.
“The Bible that I love teaches me about honesty, integrity and unconditional love for all people. But beyond that, I am very careful about separating my personal faith and beliefs from how we run our business,” the chairman wrote in 2008 in response to California’s ban on same-sex marriage. ” … We embrace all people as our customers, associates, owners and franchisees regardless of race, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.”
The Marriott Board has featured many prominent Mormons, including former presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
During Romney’s 2012 campaign, Marriott expressed gratitude over the attention the campaign brought the church.
“There has never been as much positive attention to the church, thanks to the wonderful campaign of Mitt Romney and his family,” Marriott said. “Today we see the church coming out of obscurity and we see that 90 percent of what has been written … has been favorable. And that’s a great tribute to Mitt and Ann and their family for living such an exemplary life. A life of love and compassion, a good Latter-day Saint life. A life of leadership, reaching out to others, and touching others, and worshiping the (L)ord and putting families and the church first.”
Despite Marriott’s affirmations for the church, they continue a push for the immoral lifestyle. The company won the International Brand of the Year at the British LGBT Awards.
