October 7 Invasion Started from the Secret on the Mount
Jonathan Cahn Reveals the Mystery of the Holy Ground That’s Behind the Invasion of Israel
Is it possible that behind the Hamas invasion of October 7 lay a mystery linked to end-time prophecy, the Antichrist and the apocalypse?
This question and many more are answered in Jonathan Cahn’s latest mind-blowing blockbuster “The Dragon’s Prophecy: Israel, the Dark Resurrection and the End of Days,” published by Charisma Media.
This is Cahn’s 9th blockbuster and “New York Times” bestseller. “The Dragon’s Prophecy” just debuted as the #1 book in America. The book opens up an entire other realm of unseen forces determining the events of our times and uncovers mysteries never before revealed, bringing to light shocking truths of what’s happening in our world and the ancient prophecies and forces that reveal where it’s all heading.
In one section, Cahn uncovers the mystery behind Israel’s day of calamity, one that is directly connected to the apocalypse, the book of Revelation and the most holy of grounds—the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
The Battle for the Mount
With penetrating insight and revelation, Cahn explains that the Temple Mount is not only the center of Jerusalem, but is also the center of Israel, and ultimately the center of God’s purposes on earth.
“The Temple Mount is the most holy of grounds,” he says. “It was there that the people of Israel ascended to worship the Lord, observed His appointed holy days, and celebrated His appointed feasts. It was there that the house of God stood and His presence rested.”
Because of its monumental significance in history and in current times, Cahn illuminates how the Temple Mount is the central ground of spiritual warfare and of the enemy’s purposes.

“The enemy’s possession of that mount will constitute his ultimate conquest,” Cahn says. “Its desecration will represent his ultimate act. Since the Temple Mount is the nearest thing on earth to God’s throne, and the enemy seeks to sit on God’s throne, then it is inevitable that he will seek to take possession of it. So, it’s inevitable that the Temple Mount should become the most fought-over ground on earth, the central space in the war of God and the enemy.”
A Dragon on the Mount
In “The Dragon’s Prophecy,” Cahn powerfully reveals from the book of Revelation that the enemy—the devil—is revealed in symbolic form as a dragon. A dragon, Cahn notes, is a territorial creature.
“And so the dragon, the enemy, never gives up ground without a fight,” Cahn says. “It took the First World War for the land of Israel to be given back to the Jewish people. It took the War of Independence for the land to become the nation of Israel. It took the Six-Day War for Jerusalem to be restored to the Jewish people.
“In each case the focus narrowed, from the land, to the nation, to the city. In each case it came through war and bloodshed. The final narrowing of focus must concern the Temple Mount. And so, the slightest movement with regard to that ground can ignite a firestorm. In fact, it already did—and we all witnessed it.”
Fire Breaks Out
Cahn reveals that in the spring of 2023, rumors began spreading that the Jewish people were going to celebrate Passover on the Temple Mount. The result was an explosion of violence on top of the Temple Mount.
“The Palestinians attacked the Israeli police with rocks and fireworks,” Cahn recounts. “The police responded with rubber bullets and stun grenades. At least a dozen people were injured, and hundreds were arrested. The next night, another clash broke out in the same place.”
In the wake of that conflict, rockets were fired into Israel from Gaza as well as from Lebanon, and afterward, Hamas issued a warning to Israel that it was ‘playing with fire,’ threatening calamity.
“Six months later,” says Cahn, “that fire and that calamity broke out—on October 7.”
The Secret Origins of October 7
Cahn says that immediately following the October 7 invasion, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh gave an address in which he told the world the reason for the day of slaughter and atrocities.
Haniyeh said the October 7 invasion was the answer to what had happened on the Temple Mount on Passover. He claimed that Israel had seen fit to sow corruption in the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque [the Temple Mount] in Al-Quds [Jerusalem]. He said, “We told them don’t play with fire…they have invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
“It is not a matter of debate,” Cahn says. “In the words of those who masterminded it, October 7 was the response to what had taken place on the Mount.”
Haniyeh also said, “When Al-Aqsa Mosque finds itself in imminent danger…this [Israeli] government is preparing to impose its sovereignty and authority over blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Cahn says that even the rumor of Jewish sovereignty returning to the Temple Mount was enough to trigger the bloodshed and calamity of October 7.
“It all began with the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” he says, “and according to Haniyeh, it would all end there.”
Haniyeh went on to say, “With a crushing defeat that will expel it [Israel] from our lands, our holy city of Al-Quds, our Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
A statement released by other Hezbollah leaders called October 7 a day of victory, joy and pride, in waging the battle of defending its honor and its holy sites, and foremost among them the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“What took place on October 7 was intrinsically bound to and triggered by the Temple Mount,” Cahn says.
The Ancient Mystery Behind 9/11
“October 7 was not the first time that the issue of the dragon and the Temple Mount would lead to calamity,” Cahn continues. “One of those calamities was directed against America, New York and Washington, D.C. It would be known as 9/11. Though most people had no idea, the tragedy that struck America on September 11, 2001, and brought the death of 3,000 Americans, was linked to God’s holy mountain in Jerusalem, the Temple Mount.”
According to Cahn, when Osama Bin Laden wrote his letter to America giving his reasons for masterminding the calamity of 9/11, the foremost issue was Palestine. “America was Israel’s most important ally and supporter,” Cahn says, “so Bin Laden said it had to be struck and punished.”
In railing against the Jews of Israel, Bin Laden wrote this to America: “With your help and under your protection, the Israelis are planning to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque.” Compare that statement to the words of those who masterminded October 7: “This [Israeli] government is preparing to impose its sovereignty and authority over blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
“The charges are virtually identical, as is the wording,” Cahn says. “And yet they were made by two different people in two different statements separated by over 20 years. One was the rationale given for the calamity of October 7; the other for September 11. Yet both traced back to the same charge and the same plot of land—the Temple Mount. Their parallels, their common causes and the fact that they each resulted in a deluge of death and destruction bear witness to the more-than-natural reality that lay behind them.”
So, as the Pentagon went up in flames and the World Trade Center crashed down in ruins, Cahn says Americans had no idea that behind their national calamity lay an ancient ground and an ancient entity. “Behind the calamity of 9/11, just as behind the calamity of October 7, was a dragon on the Temple Mount.”
The Flood
The connection between the Temple Mount and October 7 was so central and so strong that it was there in the code name given to the invasion by Hamas. It was called the ‘Amaliyyat Tufan Al-Aqsa,’ or the Al-Aqsa Flood (the name of the mosque atop the Temple Mount).
“It was all about the Temple Mount,” says Cahn. “It was all about the dragon’s possession of that Mount and the war waged there over the purposes of God. The invasion of October 7 bore the name of a flood and the mosque that sat on the Temple Mount. On that day a flood of fury poured down from the Mount and onto the people of Israel from the mouth of the dragon.”
“The Dragon’s Prophecy” opens up this mystery and many more. It’s a must-read for all believers in these last days.
