Stephen E. Strang: How Cancel Culture Is Duping Our Children and Why ‘Christians Must Be Strong’
Stephen E. Strang, award-winning journalist, bestselling author and founder of Charisma Media, has announced the release of his new book, God and Cancel Culture: Stand Strong Before It’s Too Late, on Sept. 7, 2021. The book not only raises red flags about and includes keen analyses of today’s “cancel culture,” but it also explains how critical race theory attaches value to victim status—which is why more and more parents are revolting against their school boards as a new school year gets underway across the country.
Loudoun County, Virginia, has seen numerous parent protests against critical race theory—and last week, a Colorado school board narrowly voted to keep critical race theory out of its district’s classrooms. Two board members argued that while educators should teach about race and racism, they should not “deliberately undermine” family values, faith, or other principles. “By its own terms, CRT/antiracism excludes individuals who merely advocate for neutral principles of the Constitution,” the board members wrote, in part, as they disputed race-based generalizations.
Strang reveals in God and Cancel Culture that behind critical race theory lies a different motivation “that has nothing to do with race or even gender.” Instead, its foundations “are thoroughly Marxist and anti-American.” Many young people, Strang explains in his reporting, “may not know they are Marxists because they’ve been duped into believing they’re fighting for racial justice.”
Continues Strang, “Cancellation is merely the first step in propagandizing a generation in the way of godlessness.” This is about atheism, he boldly articulates in God and Cancel Culture—which is why “we Christians must not retreat. We must advance and be strong.”
Strang adds, “America is living proof that capitalism gives more freedom than any other economic system. We certainly don’t want to tear it down in favor of some alternate culture. But what can be done to save freedom from Marxism? Some say the solution will be rather extreme—and violent.” Even so, notes Strang, “Speaking out and standing for what’s right are always in fashion in God’s Kingdom … There is always hope.”
For God and Cancel Culture, Strang went to a cross section of leaders—and in his new book, he:
— Documents what is happening to many conservatives across the country right now.
— Shares effective ways that believers can respond.
— Explains why we can look to the future with hope.
— Helps readers understand that no matter how bad things may seem, God always prevails.
God and Cancel Culture will help Christians realize the seriousness of the battle before them and illuminate the present circumstance for the purpose of doing good-to bring hope. It will document what is happening in the country, how believers can respond and why they can look expectantly to the future. {eoa}
