The Day I Saw Satan—And How Angels Fought Back
What would you do if you saw Satan face-to-face?
That’s the position renowned Bible teacher and prophetic minister Perry Stone found himself in when he had a vision that put him in front of none other than the ruler of darkness.
During the vision, Stone found himself standing in a hallway when an invisible force began lifting his suitcase and briefcase—items he typically carries when traveling for ministry. Recognizing this as an attempt by the enemy to hinder his mission, Stone suddenly witnessed the manifestation of Satan himself.

“Then something spoke to me and said rebuke him in the name of ‘Yeshua,'” Stone recounts. “[I said] rebuke you in the name of Yeshua and he stopped. Well then, the briefcase and the suitcase start moving on their own toward the door and I’m thinking, ‘Who’s causing this?'”
In the vision, Satan crept closer and Stone continued to rebuke him. However, Stone then received unexpected help in the vision.
“I heard behind me a voice say ‘Call on the highest angel God has, Michael the archangel, to come against Satan,'” Stone remembers.
The moment Stone invoked Michael’s assistance and once again rebuked Satan in the name of Yeshua, the enemy fell to one knee, and the spiritual disturbance ceased.
Stone emphasized that this vision serves as a reminder of the very real spiritual warfare facing believers, particularly those involved in global ministry. His decision to call on the name of Michael the archangel may very well be controversial for many Christians, as we are not to pray to angels or seek them out the way we are God. However, do certain times and spiritual battles render our need for angelic armies?
“Every ministry that is global…is now under the attack,” says Stone.
He points out that any ministry which is trying to share the gospel with the world ultimately is going to face the kind of spiritual battle that requires help from the Lord’s heavenly army. When we think about someone like Daniel who saw Michael fight on his behalf, we can see that anyone who is going to be proclaiming the Word of God to the world will face a spiritual battle we cannot handle on our own.
“I believe that it’s time for the body of Christ…to begin to ask God to release warring angels to go against some of the nonsense that I see taking place in the body of Christ.”
Since our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against power and principalities, Christians must stay vigilant, praying for their full spiritual armor to be on at all times, and for the Lord to fight on their behalf.
