This Great Sermon Reveals the Believer’s Character in Chaotic Times
Our days in this age are days of difficulties. As many already know, these are most historic and unprecedented days: a pandemic era, a day that tries men’s souls.
For Black America, there are two deadly and destructive diseases—COVID-19 and the spirit of racism. Although there have been peaceful protests and new policy reform with change, Black America yet as a people grapple with painful imagery of inequalities and injustices.
In Matthew 5, Israel was also seemingly in the fight of their lives. There was Roman governmental oppression and rule—overtaxation and underrepresentation. Also, there were overt persecutions, prejudices and discrimination from all fronts toward Israel.
However, the greatest sermon ever preached or taught was given by Jesus! The “Sermon on the Mount” was not about spiritual gifts. It was not about the anointing or spiritual power. It was about the attitude, inner qualities and the character of the believer.
The “be-atitudes” is really about what your “attitude should be like” during these days of difficulty. Let’s talk!
