The battle of Jericho, with the walls of the city coming down, makes a great example of warfare led by the Spirit of God. We need to understand what the people of Israel understood back then.

How did the walls of Jericho come falling down? For seven days, the people of Israel were worshipping before the Lord. When Israel entered the promised land, what did the people do? They brought the priests and the Levites with the ark of His presence to the front of the march. They made the presence of the Lord their armor. They went forward in the presence of God, and the waters were shifted.

When Jehoshaphat was besieged by the Israelites and did not know what to do,  he lifted his hand, and the Spirit of God fell upon the people God’s message to him was that he should not be dismayed by the great army that lay before him. “Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not fear, nor be dismayed because of this great army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chron. 20:15b, MEV).
