How You Can Experience God’s Ultimate Favor
In the book of Exodus, Moses had a much greater concern than material possessions. If God didn’t go with the Israelites into the promised land, Moses said he wanted no part of it.
In other words, World Challenge President Gary Wilkerson says, if God’s presence is absent, then God’s “ultimate favor” upon anyone is also null and void. No Christian, he says, should ever want to be in that position.
“I want to know every morning when I wake up that I have the presence of the Holy Spirit, that Jesus lives in me and that I thrive in Him,” Wilkerson told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “That’s the favor that I want. I like the car and the house, and I’m content with my family. But if I could have all of that and miss Jesus, then forget it. Just give me Jesus. That’s what I want more than anything else.
“Some Christians believe that God is just putting up with them and that He doesn’t really like them, that they are corrupt and simply perpetual worms. They think they are going to just squeak into heaven. Just squeaking into heaven, that’s not what I read in the Bible about God’s favor.”
