On the Eve of ‘The Return,’ Christians Are Called to Arise
Uplifting music. Humbling prayers. Calls to action.
The cast of worship leaders and speakers at “Return Eve: Next Generation” tonight proclaimed the name of Jesus through personal testimonies and cries for the Holy Spirit to heal hearts and land. The gathering prepared those filling the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for the main event beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26—“The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance.“
“It’s time to rebuild,” said keynote speaker, evangelist Nicky Cruz. “When Jesus asked Peter ‘Who do you say that I am?’ and Peter responded with understanding, he became the next generation.”
Cruz compared the state of America to the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel 37. He quoted: “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, awake.'”
He then prophesied those historic words over America, noting that Christians today—of all ages—are Gen U, the generation of the upright.
“God has called us to build, to arise, and He will give us success,” Cruz said. “Let the dry bones awaken. It’s time for the next generation to unite and rebuild as one nation, serving one King and building one kingdom, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Through the collective efforts of praise, prayer and repentance, believers called upon God to prepare the very soil, referred to as “holy ground” because of the people occupying it, for “The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance.” Experience the event in person or via livestream at Charisma News.
