Robert Morris Indicted: Here’s What You Should Know
Former Gateway megachurch pastor Robert Morris has been indicted in the state of Oklahoma.
According to the Associated Press, the charges against Morris include five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child. This comes as a result after he admitted to the alleged abuse acts brought against him by Cindy Clemishire last June. According to Clemishire, the events began when she was only 12-years-old, continuing for four years.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond said in a statement, “There can be no tolerance for those who sexually prey on children…This case is all the more despicable because the alleged perpetrator was a pastor who exploited his position. The victim in this case has waited far too many years for justice to be done.”
Clemishire released a statement on Morris’ indictment stating, “After almost 43 years, the law has finally caught up with Robert Morris for the horrific crimes he committed against me as a child…Now, it is time for the legal system to hold him accountable.”
Clemishire also believes that “justice will ultimately prevail.”
This comes as Morris and other members of Gateway filed a class action lawsuit related to the church’s money-back guaranteed tithing policy.
As this case continues to unfold, pray for Gateway Church, for Cindy Clemishire and for Robert Morris’ family during this time. Above all, pray that God’s truth, goodness and light would triumph.
