Al Sharpton Asks: Are Texas Floods God’s Judgment on America?
The floods sweeping Texas are some of the worst in history, and Rev. Al Sharpton believes it may go deeper than weather patterns:
“#KeepingItReal QOTD: Do you think the #TexasFlooding is related to climate control or God’s rebuke? Call 8775325797 or tweet me your thoughts,” he tweeted.
The deadly flooding has killed at least 35 people, according to CNN.
“It’s just very heartbreaking that we have this loss of life,” Kristi Wyatt, city spokeswoman in San Marcos, Texas, tells CNN. “Some of those people were in a home together, celebrating the holidays, and they were swept away in the stormwater. … It’s just a terrible situation.”
But is this “terrible situation” God’s judgment or just weather being weather?
Sharpton garnered many responses when he posted the question.
“I think the @ChurchOfSatan did caused (sic) the flood. @TheRevAl,” one person tweeted.
Another tweeted: “@TheRevAl TOTES MAN’S DOING.”
Yet another: “@TheRevAl Rain. I think it’s because of rain.”
What do you think? Sound off!
