Anne Graham Lotz Calls for a Wake-Up 10 Years After 9/11
Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of Billy and Ruth Graham, fervently believes the signs of Jesus’ return are being fulfilled and He will return during this generation.
In her book Expecting to See Jesus: A Wake-Up Call for God’s People, released in August, Lotz details the signs of Jesus’ return and the implications that He could return at any moment. She wants America to realize that Sept. 11 was a wake-up call from God, that as a country we have pushed him out of our government and schools, and it’s time to repent and invite him back.
“The signs that Jesus gave and the headlines in the news are coming together in a dramatically sobering way,” says Lotz, president and CEO of AnGeL Ministries, a nonprofit organization that undergirds her efforts to draw people into a life-changing relationship with God through his Word. “I have held the conviction with intense focus since I was in my early 20s that if I live out my natural lifetime, I will live to see the physical return of Jesus to earth!”
Lotz firmly believes that the attack on 9/11 was meant to be a wake-up call to all Christians and start a revival within the church. She remembers how Sept. 11 personally transformed her own faith and instilled in her a passion to share her convictions with others. “On that day, God woke me up and set my heart on fire to tell other people the glorious good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
In Expecting to See Jesus, Lotz divides the signs Jesus gave his disciples into five categories and shows how they are being fulfilled. She details how the signs Jesus described as “birth pains” in Matthew 24:8 are happening all around us. There have always been wars, famines, earthquakes and the persecution of His people, but just as birth pains, they are happening more frequently and more intensely than ever before.
According to Lotz: “Within my lifetime, I have seen the fulfillment of every sign Jesus gave His disciples 2,000 years ago. Not only have I seen the signs but I have observed the local, national and global ‘birth pains’ increase in astonishing frequency and intensity. I am convinced that the kingdoms of this world are about to give birth to the kingdom of God.”
In conjuncture with the book’s release, Anne is hosting a national webcast on Sept. 11 with Joel Rosenberg, New York Times best-selling author of The Twelfth Imam. Meant to act as a wake-up call to the nation, Lotz remembers the victims of 9/11 and calls for spiritual revival 10 years after the terrorist attack.
Lotz launched her revival ministry in 2000 and has spoken on seven continents, in more than 20 foreign countries, proclaiming the Word of God in arenas, churches, seminaries and prisons. Lotz is following in her father’s footsteps and inspiring personal revival across the country.
