Christian Councilwoman Gunned Down Outside Her Home
A local New Jersey councilwoman was tragically shot to death in her vehicle on Wednesday evening.
The community is reeling from this shocking killing that police believe to be a targeted shooting.
Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour (R) was found in her white, Nissan SUV that had crashed outside of her residence.
Dwumfour was found with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.
Currently, one witness has come forward to tell police that they saw a gunman open fire at Dwumfour and flee the scene at the Camelot at La Mer apartment complex in a vehicle.
This was the scene overnight in the Sayreville development known as La Mer, where a 30-year-old Councilwoman was murdered.

As reported by Fox News, “A Facebook account for Detective Juan Rodriguez and Pastor Doctor Nelia Rodriguez also reported that Dwumfour was killed.”
“We are so heartbroken to announce that our friend, Councilwoman from Sayreville, part of our HRC (Human Relation Commission), our personal friend, a woman of God Eunice Dwumfour was [murdered] tonight in Sayreville,” the couple wrote.
“She was an amazing friend, a woman who loved God. We were just at our HRC meeting Jan. 5th, 2023, and I just saw her this morning at the store. I remember saying to her I see you at the HRC meeting tomorrow, not knowing tonight was going to be the end of her life. I can’t stop crying. She was 30 years young and full of life,” the Rodríguezes continued.
The mayor of Sayreville, Victoria Kilpatrick, also commended Dwumfour for having a heart for the community and commitment to her faith.
“Beyond her dedication to our community, I can share that she was a woman of deep faith and worked hard to integrate her strong Christian beliefs in to her daily life as a person and a community leader,” Kilpatrick stated. “On a personal note, I can’t adequately express my feeling of sorrow at the loss of a friend.”
Dwumfour was only 30 years old, yet made a lasting impression on her community with her kindness and dedication to improving the lives of everyone in her sphere of responsibility.
According to her LinkedIn bio, she was the Director of Churches for the Champions Royal Assembly NA. Described on their website, Champions Royal Assembly is a Nigerian based ministry that “is a core Prophetic & Deliverance Ministry with a strong Word base, the Church is located in Chikakore in Kubwa Abuja.”
In times of tragedy such as this, with a young, promising mother taken from her family and loved ones too soon, there is comfort, rest and peace to be found in the One who Dwumfour herself put her faith. {eoa}
