Luis Palau, ‘Billy Graham of Latin America,’ Dead at 86

Internationally known evangelist Luis Palau died today at his home in Portland, Oregon, after a three-year battle with stage 4 lung cancer, his family reports. He was 86.

His son Kevin posted the notice of his father’s death on the evangelist’s Facebook page, noting that “We are heartbroken, but full of faith. We serve a good God who loves us tremendously. And Dad gave his life to share that Good News with the world.”

Palau, an immigrant from Argentina, was often called the “Billy Graham of Latin America,” sharing the gospel in more than 80 nations across the globe. For more than 60 years, his Palau Association has shared the Good News of Jesus Christ with more than 1 billion people throughout the world, per its website.

Revival Fires Burn Bright at Texas Church Since 2018

Healings. Salvations. Miracles. Changed lives.

When a pastor and a church get tired of “business as usual” and pursue the Lord in passion, anything can happen. That’s what Pastor Mike Fehlauer of New Life Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, has learned through the ongoing revival his church has experienced since 2018.

It all began, not with crises or problems in the church, but with what he says was an “increasing dissatisfaction” on his part.

“I just really felt like we’d put a lid on the expression, the movement, the activity of the Holy Spirit at New Life Church,” Fehlauer says.

Arkansas Governor Signs Law Banning Abortions Statewide

Governor Asa Hutchinson signed a bill into law Tuesday banning abortions in Arkansas except in medical emergencies, which only allows the procedure to save the life of the mother.

The legislation will take effect in 90 days after the majority-Republican legislature adjourns this year’s session.

Gov. Hutchinson, who has signed several major abortion restrictions into law since taking office in 2015, said he was signing the bill because of its “overwhelming legislative support and my sincere and long-held pro-life convictions.” Hutchinson also added that “SB6 is in contradiction of binding precedents of the U.S. Supreme Court, but it is the intent of the legislation to set the stage for the Supreme Court overturning current case law.” {eoa}
