Dallas Pastor Robert Jeffress Slams “Bogus” Ministers
Dallas pastor Robert Jeffress slammed “bogus” ministers “who do nothing but sow seeds of distrust and disrespect for the police,” he said in an interview.
The First Baptist pastor quoted Romans 13:4, which says authority has been appointed by God for our good.
“But if you do what is evil, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain, for he is the servant of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him who practices evil,” the passage continues.
“I’m getting very sick and tired of so-called ministers who do nothing but sow seeds of distrust and disrespect for the police,” Jeffress says. “Those kind of bogus ministers need to be exposed and need to be called out for what they’re doing.”
Jeffress and his congregation are part of the Back the Blue initiative, which offers counseling to police officers and their families.
“We think as Christians, we ought to be commending law enforcement officials for their sacrificial services on our behalf,” Jeffress said of the Back the Blue initiative.
