Georgia Doctor Refuses Care to Unvaccinated Patient

A Georgia pulmonologist has chosen to withhold much-needed medical attention from one of the patients under her care because the patient has not taken the COVID vaccination. The patient’s daughter, whom we’ll call “Cynthia,” came to us for help with her father’s vexing situation.

“My father who is under continual care by a pulmonologist for an ongoing medical issue is being refused care by the pulmonologist for not being vaccinated with the COVID vaccine,” she writes, noting that his refusal is based on both religious and medical concerns.

The doctor is “refusing care because he is unvaccinated,” Cynthia adds. “I believe this is medical abandonment.”

More Exclusions

New York City Mayor de Blasio announced that people must now present a “Key to NYC” showing proof of COVID vaccination. He has banned people who do not have digital proof of the shot from gyms, fitness centers, fitness classes, pools, indoor studios, dance studios, movie theaters, music and concert venues, museums, galleries, aquariums and zoos, professional sports arenas, indoor stadiums, convention centers, exhibition halls, performing arts theaters, bowling alleys, arcades, pool and billiard halls, recreational game centers, adult entertainment and indoor play areas, restaurants, catering halls, event spaces, hotel banquet rooms, bars, nightclubs, cafeterias, coffee shops and fast food establishments. He even bans them from quick service (gas stations) and grocery stores that have indoor dining.

To give you an idea of the magnitude of the problem, in two different virtual meetings Tuesday night, we helped about 1,800 people who face imminent termination from their jobs or expulsion from their schools.

Several thousand people (and this number grows by the hour) have requested legal help, and some of these individuals represent thousands. One person represents over 2,000 people. Another person at a large hospital represents about 19,000 health care workers. Please help us help these people.

No one should be forced to get these shots.

The latest available VAERS injury reports show that as of Aug. 6, among the 571,830 total adverse reactions, there have been 51,242 hospitalizations; 12,791 deaths; 5,590 heart attacks; 16,044 permanent disabilities; 24,305 severe allergic reactions; 1,505 miscarriages and much more.

In the face of these rising numbers, many students preparing to serve in the health care professions do not want the shot but are coming up against mandates to get the injection or end their education. We just had a victory in a case like this.

A Louisiana federal district court granted medical school students a temporary restraining order against Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine’s mandate that they receive COVID vaccinations as a condition of enrollment and class attendance. This is the first temporary restraining order regarding COVID shot mandates granted in the nation.

The state’s attorney general also went to bat for these students. Jeff Landry sent a letter to school officials and also filed an amicus brief.

The school denied exemptions, then “granted” them while placing severe restrictions on the students. The court ruled that the school must grant religious exemptions and treat the students equally. This is a huge victory.

We have been successful getting many exemptions even for people who were initially denied—and that is what happened in this case.

But my heart breaks because the need is so great. I can’t tell you how many times I hear conversation outside my door regarding other students who have been denied. One nursing student is one semester from graduating.

Our phones do not stop ringing, and the online Legal Help form requests grow each day by several hundred. Fifty workers in Fort Myers, Florida, are being told they will be terminated by Monday if they don’t get the vaccination. This is inhumane.

Thousands of people are crying for help. It can be emotionally draining. But then we hear expressions of gratitude and hope like this one from Alisun: “I was beginning to lose faith, feeling like I’m battling alone.”

You can’t imagine the emotional cries we hear from people in all sectors.

Thousands are also participating in our ongoing conference calls. This is a national emergency. Please help us help these people.
