Prayers Arise After Deadliest Mass Shooting on U.S. Soil
Monday morning brought heartache as shock circulated through the United States. Sixty-four-year-old Stephen Paddock attacked a country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip, killing at least 50 and injuring more than 400 more.
In the wake of the violence, many people responded through social media and other ways with prayers and heartfelt cries to God.
My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!

Ronnie Floyd, president of the National Day of Prayer
The unthinkable and horrific acts of violence against innocent people in Las Vegas moves us to prayer immediately. May the peace of Jesus Christ be with those who have lost loved ones. We pray for those being cared for, as well as for all the first responders.
Larry Tomczak, cultural commentator
When Jesus was asked about the sign of His Return and the end of the world He said, “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another”(Matt.24:10). This recent Vegas massacre is but another example of this prophetic prediction being fulfilled in our day.
Whether it is the continued callous dismemberment of unborn babies, hatred of our president, defiance of police and campus authorities, hostilities rampant on social media, bitterness expressed towards America at sporting events or in the destruction of memorials, the level of animosity continues to escalate because America has lost its way. Our greatest need is a spiritual awakening!
Alexander Hamilton said, ” If it be asked, what is the most sacred duty and the greatest source of our security in a Republic? The answer would be, an inviolable RESPECT for the Constitution and Laws.”
We are a nation adrift, not respecting God’s laws and those upon which this nation was founded.
It is not a temporary malfunction. ” If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”(Ps.11:3).As we “mourn with those who mourn” over this latest episode, we must continue in fervent prayer and proclamation of truth in a charitable yet uncompromising way as we communicate the gospel and call America back to God!
My wife and I will drive about 13 hours to be in DC for the “Awaken the Dawn” epic event this week to do just this. Please join us at this critical time.
Daniel Norris, traveling evangelist
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrific shooting and their families. It is an unimaginable loss of life that grieves us to the core.
I hear calls this morning to “continue life as normal; don’t give this evil man the benefit of spreading fear and disrupting our way of life.” However tragedies like these must change us, and prayerfully for the better not worse.
We live in a fallen world where evil increases on a daily basis. Our cities hurt because they remain unhealed. Church, let us no longer withhold that healing.
Jesus, we plead your blood upon our sins and the sins of our nation. Forgive us and send revival to America. It remains our only hope.
Stay tuned for more prayers throughout today!
