'Psychology Today' will no longer be running ads for gay conversion therapy.

‘Psychology Today’ Reverses Gay Therapy Stance

The magazine and website Psychology Today has reversed its position and will not allow therapists to place ads offering to help people grappling with same-sex attraction, according to news reports.

The Human Rights Campaign, a gay rights group, first pressed Psychology Today to drop the ads in February.

Charles Frank, who runs the organization’s Directory of Therapists, originally told The Huffington Post that while the magazine was not a “fan” of so-called conversion therapy that “the Therapy Directory cannot pick winners.”
