Terrorism Threat Looming Large Over America

President Biden’s border crisis continues to escalate. Currently, 12,000 people are living under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas. In the month of August alone, there were more than 200,000 migrant encounters at the border—a 317% increase from what Customs and Border Protection encountered last August.

This increase is a result of failed policies. When you have a lack of process, you have a lack of control. When you have a lack of control, you have serious problems. We want to have compassion for these people who are trying to pursue a better life in America, but we have to follow the rules. The bottom line is compassion without process creates chaos.

ACLJ Senior Counsel Andy Ekonomou explains the lack of process being displayed under this Administration:

A lack of process which means how you go about something in an orderly fashion giving due process . . . in the sense of humanitarian process giving aid where it is required, perhaps on the spot, rather than bringing these people over here and giving it to them in their countries of origin. But what it leads to is chaos. And that is what I see when I look at Del Rio, Texas and look under that bridge and see these poor people living in huts and walking across waterways. It reminds me of terrible conditions that we’ve seen throughout history. This should not be the case in the 21st century in America.

Unfortunately, it is the reality of the 21st century in America. ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell explains the reality of the crisis at the border:

Look, the border is close to where we are. It is troubling because we know Americans have big hearts. And we don’t want to have immigrants and refugees camping out in these types of conditions on the border. . . . I think the language of the Biden Administration is encouraging this to come when there is no plan of action. What we need to be able to do is tell people this is the greatest country in the world; you are welcome to apply. We have a very long line. We have a system where we will go through and check each person and decide who gets in. The problem is we have a hundred million people that want to come, and we only allow one million people a year to get citizenship. We are very generous, but the reality is if we don’t have rules, we don’t have a gate and a big huge wall. . . . I like to say build a wall, but let’s have a big wide gate where there is an orderly line, and we listen to people who want to come in.

Another crisis where the Biden Administration has failed is in Afghanistan. Before President Biden pulled U.S. troops out of Afghanistan, the Pentagon called for a drone strike that ended up killing an aid worker – Zemari Ahmadi – and nine of his family members, seven of which were children. The U.S. military believed at the time that Zemari was loading explosives in the back of a white Toyota sedan, but they later learned that they were gravely mistaken; it was a false threat. The false threat cost the lives of 10 innocent civilians and created a Pentagon crisis.

Ric Grenell was the former Acting Director of National Intelligence. He gave his sense of what happened in this Pentagon mistake:

Let’s summarize. Let’s remember there was chaos where the Taliban was taking over. We had Marines and other U.S. individuals killed—people who were defending America. … The response from the U.S. military was that they were going to get ISIS planners. They announced that they got very senior ISIS planners, but they couldn’t give us their names.

I immediately had a red flag and I tweeted out that if you can’t give us their name, then it is not a righteous hit. When you think about a righteous hit, that means it’s a very clear bad guy and we were right to take out the bad guy. Well, we should know who that bad guy is. If they cannot tell us, then clearly there was a mistake. … When you don’t give a name, you clearly don’t have a target.

There will be an investigation into what exactly happened that led to a failed drone strike in Afghanistan. As with the border crisis, we have to hold our leaders accountable for their actions. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is going to visit Texas to get an operational update on the border crisis, which will probably lead to a press conference. We aren’t holding our breath though; we have already filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the DHS to figure out how we got to this devastating scenario. The Biden Administration ignored our request, so we filed a lawsuit to get to the bottom of this crisis. We won’t let this go.

Today’s full Sekulow broadcast is complete with even more analysis of the border crisis and a failed drone strike that has led to a Pentagon crisis. {eoa}
