‘Those People Are Idiots’: ‘Lightyear’ Voice Slams People Who Oppose Same-Sex Kiss in Film

Disney’s Pixar announced that it will include a same-sex kiss in the upcoming animated film “Lightyear” after enduring an outcry from the gay community.

The movie, which is scheduled to debut on June 17, will feature a lesbian moment between two female characters who are in a same-sex marriage, Variety reports.

On Tuesday, June 14, Buzz Lightyear actor Chris Evans slammed concerned parents who don’t want their kids to see homosexuality in Disney’s animated films. “The real truth is those people are idiots,” Evans told Reuters, attacking critics of the same-sex display.

Evans went on to tell Variety he thinks the homosexual display of affection in this children’s movie is “great” and “wonderful.”

“It’s tough to not be a little frustrated that it even has to be a topic of discussion,” Evans continued. “That it is this kind of ‘news.’ The goal is that we can get to a point where it is the norm, and that this doesn’t have to be some uncharted waters, that eventually this is just the way it is.”

“Look, it’s an honor to be a part of something that is taking those steps,” Evans gushed.

Disney Caved to LGBTQ Pressure

It all comes after Pixar’s LGBTQ employees had reportedly sent a letter to Disney CEO Bob Chapek condemning his original decision to cut the scene, along with other “overtly gay” sexuality from previous Pixar films.

“Nearly every moment of overtly gay affection is cut at Disney’s behest, regardless of when there is protest from both the creative teams and executive leadership at Pixar,” the letter reads. “Even if creating LGBTQIA+ content was the answer to fixing the discriminatory legislation in the world, we are being barred from creating it.”

An unnamed source told Variety that the film—which stars Chris Evans as the inspiration for the “Toy Story” character Buzz Lightyear—features a character named Hawthorne (voiced by actress Uzo Aduba) who is in a same-sex relationship with another woman.

Some of the angry employees had also lashed out at Chapek for not immediately denouncing recent legislation approved by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) that regulates sex education in public elementary schools.

The Parental Rights in Education bill says schools can’t teach curriculum on sexual orientation and gender identity to very young children from kindergarten to third grade. Leftist groups and biased media outlets mischaracterized the measure, calling it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. {eoa}
