Jordan Wooley

Tween Who Took Bold Stand for Christian Beliefs Told to Kill Herself

Seventh-grader Jordan Wooley went toe-to-toe with her teacher and Texas school board over an assignment where she says she was told to write “God is a myth.”

Her testimony to the Katy Independent School District went viral, though later investigations claim the teacher did not force Wooley to deny the existence of God.

Rather, the board said the assignment was meant to provoke critical thinking, according to USA Today

The media appeared to jump to the teacher’s and school district’s defense, telling readers Wooley was misguided and no other student would corroborate her report.

But in an interview with Fox and Friends, Wooley tells Clayton Morris the board members are “liars.”

In new footage, Wooley appears once more before the board, telling them, “You tried to cover up the incident. You tried to twist your words where it was hard to find the truth. You called me a liar without using the word liar.”

Fighting for her faith resulted in the loss of some friends, Wooley says, and even worse: “A few people have told me to kill myself, people have told me things I’m not allowed to say.”
