A U.S. Air Force jet allegedly crashed in Afghanistan Monday, Jan. 27. The plane reportedly crashed in Taliban-controlled territory in the Ghazni province.
BBC reports it is still unclear if the plane actually belonged to the U.S. Department of Defense, but the U.S. military is investigating the matter.
A Taliban spokesman claims “lots” of people were killed in the crash, according to Al Jazeera. Although a death count has not been confirmed, a local journalist told the Associated Press that he saw two people dead in the debris.
