Youth Minister Tragically Killed in DC Shooting
Youth minister Stephanie Goodloe was shot and killed in the early hours Saturday, according to reports.
Goodloe, who also was the daycare director at another local church, worked with the youth at Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Washington, D.C.
“We offer our prayers for the family of our former daycare Director Stephanie Goodloe who was taken from the world far to soon. We encourage you to love without restraint!” Christian Tabernacle Church of God Inc. posted on Facebook.
Police arrested Goodloe’s ex-boyfriend for the crime.
Several people offered their condolences via social media.
“My heart goes out to the family. This is a very hard pill to swallow as I grew up with Stehanie (sic), we we’re (sic) on the same usher board as kids, we laughed and were just kids who grew up. We were both baptized at Mt. Gilead at a young age. She was a good person with a smile that would u (sic) smile on a bad day. Though I’m not a member of Mt. Gilead anymore and a member of another church it’s still home for all of us. My grandparents have been active members of the church since before we we’re (sic) born. This has hurt them also as they both have stated Stephanie was family, like one of their own grandchildren. This has effected many of us and very heartbreaking. Our prayers for strength and comfort are with the family and all who knew her in this difficult time,” wrote one person.
Another posted: “My heartfelt prayers go out to Stephanie’s family; her daughter, brother, and her mother, Sharon. I am at a loss as I just saw Stephanie a few weeks ago and we were catching up on the kids. Thank God for allowing me one last conversation with her. Heaven has another Angel!”
Mount Gilead asks that we pray for Goodloe’s daughter, mother and brother during this devastating time.
