Bishop Gordon McDonald, Superintendent of Pentecostal Holiness Church, Dies
On Monday, William M. Wilson, president and global council co-chair of Empowered21, reported in a newsletter that Bishop Gordon McDonald, general superintendent of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Canada, had died.
Wilson wrote: “I am deeply saddened to report the passing of Gordon McDonald, general superintendent of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Canada. Gordon served as one of our regional co-chairs for Empowered21 Canada and a member of the Global Council since the beginning of E21.
“Gordon was a wonderful Christian gentleman and huge champion for the Empowered21 network and values. Our entire Global Council saw him as a friend and great statesman. Personally, he was a balcony person to me and such a timely encourager. I will miss him deeply. We were very honored to have Gordon attend our zoom Global Council meeting earlier this month despite his failing health. His testimony that day touched all of us in a profound way.
“Gordon’s journey is over, his work is completed and his reward will surely be great. Please join us in praying for Gordon’s widow, Glenda, and his three sons. May God’s presence be strong for all of them.”
