Lou Engle Calls Switzerland to Intercession
Lou Engle’s movement, TheCall, is gathering in Switzerland next month, and he’s urging the nation to participate in intercession and fasting.
TheCall Geneva will convene at various locations Dec. 8-12 with a goal to invoke spiritual transformation.
Engle, co–founder of TheCall solemn assemblies, is part of the leadership team at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Mo. He wrote in an email: “We want to alert you—the faithful fiery praying friends around the world—to join us on this strategic day. God is orchestrating a convergence of believers including modern day reformers from around the world to join us specifically on December 8th for 12 hours of fasting and prayer.”
TheCall Geneva’s website says the event’s purpose is, “to pray as a unified body of God to restore righteousness and justice in Geneva and for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that will spread throughout Switzerland and Europe.”
Engle’s email goes on to explain, “Geneva is a strategic city in the natural but there is a greater strategic spiritual realm. We are to position ourselves to pray for revival that will impact the nations of Europe. Our desire is to see God usher in another history-altering movement in our generation, one that would reform and restore His Church to all that He intended.
“No longer content to be the historic place of the reformation, we intend to posture ourselves as the body of Christ to be the agent of reformation in our day!”
TheCall has gathered believers together for prayer, fasting, repentance and sacrificial worship for more than 10 years. However, the movement recognizes that it is not just about the event.
“Our hope is not in an event,” TheCall Geneva site notes, “but in God who promises to hear when we pray and to heal our nation when we humble ourselves before Him.”
TheCall began in Washington, D.C., in 2000, and have gathered more than 400,000 people to pray and fast for the U.S.
