WATCH: Guardian Angels Rescue Man Lost at Sea 66 Days
You may have read about the man rescued off the North Carolina Coast that was missing at seas for 66 days. What you may not know is that his rescue was an answer to fervent prayer.
“A German-flagged vessel alerted the Coast Guard midday on Thursday that it had spotted the man and his disabled boat some 200 miles (320 km) east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, and took him aboard,” Reuters reports.
“The man, 37-year-old Louis Jordan of South Carolina, was airlifted from the ship and sent to a hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, the Guard said.”
News reports reveal he broke his collarbone when the ship capsized during his sleep. Jordan told ABC News that he was “flying through the air and somersaulting.” He survived on pancakes, fish and rainwater.
“I’m so glad you’re alive,” Frank Jordan, Louis’ father, told him in a phone call Thursday, according to audio released by the Coast Guard. “We prayed, and prayed, and hoped you were still alive.”
