Bruce (Caitlyn) Jenner received the Arthur Ash award for courage.

A Warning to Christians Who Are Celebrating Bruce (Caitlyn) Jenner’s Transgenderism

When we come to a crossroad, sometimes we are forced to choose between good and evil, right or wrong, and sadly some are choosing wrong. Bruce Jenner, who is now known as Caitlyn Jenner, will be receiving the ESPN ESPY Award for “courage” today. They are going to recognize the confused Bruce Jenner as a hero before the entire world for becoming a woman. Jenner deserved his gold medal in the 1976 Olympics. Becoming a woman is not a reason that demonstrates the courage for receiving the Arthur Ash Award. If that’s the case, many who have walked away from homosexuality should be given the same award for their courage and commitment. If you truly want an example of real courage, look at the many men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our country and our freedom. That is real courage; they should be the ones receiving an award.

Jenner may get all his awards and accolades from man so all can see, but those kind of awards will not last, my friends. As a matter of fact, as soon as those awards hit the fire they will burn.

Let us store up heavenly awards that will last for eternity. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy and where thieves do not break in nor steal” (Matt. 6:19-20).

Many Christians, ministry leaders and pastors have traded the truth for a lie (Rom. 1:25). Many are supporting Jenner by following his new identity page on social media, which has helped give him over 2 million followers on each site. The world is watching to see if we Christians are talking out of both sides of our mouth; are our actions saying one thing and our mouth another? The last thing we want to do is lead a friend or family member down the wrong path. Our choices, words and actions can bring confusion if we are not clear as to where we stand and what we believe. This is what Jesus said to his disciples in Luke 17:1-4:

“Then He said to the disciples, ‘It is impossible except that offenses will come. But woe to him through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he was thrown into the sea, than to offend one of these little ones. Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. And if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turns to you, saying, “I repent,” you must forgive him.”

If we stay true to the Word of God, we will make good decisions because the Bible is the only book that produces truth with accuracy.

We, the church, are in a crisis; the world is in a crisis, and I believe you and I have been made free so others can be set free through Jesus Christ. There is a rise in the support of homosexuality, transgenderism and everything else that is trying to take us away from God’s original plan for our lives. I know that families, political parties and churches are divided when it comes to this issue. But the truth will set you free. I am one of many that no longer live a homosexual life and can speak with authority on this issue. Please do not be deceived by the world’s view on this issue of homosexuality because the world’s view is contrary to God’s view.

Jesus told them, “Jesus answered them, “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many” (Matt. 24:4-5).

We cannot sit on the sideline and watch; we have to get involved if we are going to see change. We cannot change a world we are not shining our light into. They are trying to fit homosexuality into a culture it was never meant to fit into. When are we as a church going to stand our ground for religious liberty and the First Amendment? Let’s not allow the forces of evil in America to destroy our family structure and our marriages. Remember, they cannot redefine what they didn’t create.

I really want to encourage God’s people today to remain steadfast in what you are doing to serve the local schools, churches and families. You might not ever receive an award that the world can see, but God most definitely has a book of remembrances.

“Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another. The Lord listened and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name. They shall be Mine, says the Lord of Hosts, on the day when I make up My jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Then you will again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him” (Mal. 3:16-18).

Janet Boynes is the founder of Janet Boynes Ministries, a nondenominational outreach that ministers to individuals questioning their sexuality and those who wish to leave homosexuality. As the author of Called Out, Boynes chronicles her story of living as a lesbian for 14 years until God called her out of that lifestyle. Read more of her story here.
