Jerry Falwell Responds to Racy Photo Allegations

Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. is refuting a Reuters report that alleges Michael Cohen helped Falwell stop racy “personal” photos from leaking.

Reuters alleges that Falwell approached the president’s former attorney in 2015 after someone obtained photos that would be kept “between husband and wife,” Cohen said in a tape recording reviewed by the news agency.

Falwell, one of the president’s top evangelical supporters, flatly denied the allegations during an interview with the Todd Starnes Radio Show.

“This report is not accurate,” Falwell said. “There are no compromising or embarrassing photos of me.”

Reuters reports the alleged photos were destroyed.

“While we have a long-standing friendship with Michael Cohen, we never engaged or paid Cohen to represent us in any legal or other professional capacity, and Cohen did not ever resolve any legal matter on our behalf,” Falwell said.

Later, Cohen reportedly helped persuade Falwell to endorse Trump just before the Iowa caucuses. In other words, the report insinuates Falwell might have been pressured to back Trump.

However, Falwell actually had a long-standing relationship with Trump. In 2012 he was invited to speak at Liberty University’s Convocation.

Falwell introduced Trump as “one of the greatest visionaries of our time.”

Cohen is now serving a three-year prison sentence for federal campaign violations and lying to Congress.
