Are Some Hollywood Movies Leading Us to Domestic Military Intervention?
Reports have come out that a 2010 Pentagon directive details how United States military forces can be deployed against United States citizens in the case of emergencies—as authorized by the president.
This scenario is in many movies, including the top two movies so far this year, The Lego Movie and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It’s only logical that some of the horrible disasters presented in science-fiction and fantasy movies (the two most popular movie genres today) would require every possible form of military, police and superhero involvement to restore a civil society. The interventions are not always against some alien invader. Viruses and domestic superthugs have been used as reasons for intervention.
Conservatives mad that such a Pentagon directive exists aren’t being realistic. Nearly $18 trillion of federal debt and 151 million Americans receiving some form of government assistance is a recipe for financial collapse of epic proportions.
American lifestyles are sustained by the free enterprise system. Make the dollar worthless or end all government payments, and it’s predictable that families will have to do bizarre things to survive—even for just one week. The possibility of chaos is very real. If local police are unable to maintain public safety, U.S. military intervention probably would be welcomed by most uninformed citizens, just as it was in National Socialist (Nazi) Germany.
Ask yourself, “Why are we in such great danger?” The answer is the sexual revolution. The demise of marriage and the traditional family has resulted in massive spending on welfare, crime and prisons. America is losing the war on poverty because we’ve waged war on the family.
Traditional families are the taxpaying backbone of America. We won’t be able to cut spending and raise more tax revenues unless we have fewer dependents and more taxpayers.
Every choice you make with your TV remote or iPad is a vote for or against the cultural revolution kicked off in the 1960s. When you vote for a more moral society that honors marriage and the traditional family, you are voting to bring the federal budget in balance and reduce the need for domestic military intervention. Every time you vote against traditional values, or for libertine values, you encourage more federal debt and a greater threat of military intervention.
The threat is not a Democratic or Republican political issue. Both parties have run up the $18-trillion-dollar debt, and both are prepared to run it up higher.
The solution to the problem is cultural, not political. The mass media creates the culture that controls society and shapes the future. You shape media with every choice you make.
Movies last for two hours, and the crisis they portray gets replayed for the next audience. You get to go home, open your refrigerator and get a drink of your choice. If you wish, you can stop at the grocery store on the way home and buy a loaf of bread. Hollywood is leading us to a disaster that changes that.
Our infrastructure is not designed for worthless money, power outages, gas shortages and empty grocery stores. People may try to break in your windows if they think you have food. Your family’s survival may be at stake. Batman, Iron Man and Spider-Man won’t be coming to your rescue. You may want military intervention.
If you think such a real life disaster is undesirable, vote with your remote for traditional values. Pray that America can change fast enough to avoid the looming disaster.
