Trump, a man who has never asked anyone for forgiveness (including God), would target reporters critical of him

Evangelicals, Please Don’t Let Donald Trump Fool You!

I woke up at 4 a.m. unable to sleep. I have been wrestling with a nasty head cold. I turned on the television, and there was breaking news. Donald Trump was bowing out of the final debate because Fox News made fun of his temperament (quite funny) and will not ban the “unfair” Megan Kelly from the debate panel.

Fat Pigs and Slobs

Trump labels her as “unfair,” because she asked him a 100 percent legitimate question. Remember.

“Mr. Trump, one of the things people love about you is you speak your mind and you don’t use a politician’s filter. However, that is not without its downsides, in particular, when it comes to women.

“You’ve called women you don’t like “fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals.” Your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks. You once told a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees. Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president, and how will you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton, who was likely to be the Democratic nominee, that you are part of the war on women?”

Trump was clearly offended. How dare Megyn Kelly—a woman!—ask him about stuff he actually did say and write. If anything, Kelly was preparing him for similar attacks that will certainly come up in a general election.

Too Politically Correct?

Trump responded by saying that the country is too politically correct.

Well, I certainly agree, but I see politically correct actions as things like gender-neutral bathrooms or forcing a photographer to work a gay weddingTrump seems to think concern over him calling women “fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals” is being politically correct. Indeed he took to Twitter to blast Kelly, whom he had previously praised as an excellent journalist. Overnight, she became “stupid,” “a bimbo” and “unprofessional.”

And now he is seeking to hold Fox News hostage by canceling his ratings-generating appearance on tomorrow’s debate. I will be shocked if he really doesn’t show up—and gives his opponents carte blanch to mock him as the toddler he is. More than likely this is a ploy, maybe ingenious, to get people to keep talking about him. I am sick, and yet he’s got even me pecking away at my keyboard when I should be resting.

Evangelicals, Please Listen

But here is the issue that I simply want everyone from Sarah Palin to Willie Robertson, from Pastor Robert Jeffress to Dr. Jerry Falwall Jr. to understand: Trump is not fit to be president.

Trump, a man who has never asked anyone for forgiveness (including God), would target reporters critical of him. He would bully anyone who stands in his way. For all his talk of making deals, all I see is an angry, vengeful, man who goes to twitter at 3 a.m. to call people “fat slobs, buffoons, idiots and losers.”

Arafat’s Media Tactics are Trumps

And now he is afraid of Megyn Kelly. If he is seeking to bully the media now, when he has no real authority, imagine what he’ll do in the Oval Office. Certain reporters will get access; others banned. That’s just how Arafat insured good press. Every reporter in the West Bank knows the rules: bad press equals no access. And this is simply unconstitutional.

While I understand, as Falwell said, many are not looking for a pastor but a president, Trump is no leader. He is a brilliant showman and salesman with the moral character and principles of a chameleon. We need righteous men and women in power.

Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.”

Are we not mourning now under President Obama?

Unique in So Many Ways

Indeed, Trump would be like no president before him.

  • The first to be married three times, cheating on the first two (and probably the third).
  • The first whose wife appeared nude in a magazine.
  • The first to boast of his sexual proclivities, claiming to have had sexual relations with some of the “top women in the world.” (This is who Sarah Palin is supporting?)
  • He will be the first that has owned casinos with strip clubs.
  • To proudly proclaim that he will seek revenge against his personal enemies “as viciously and as violently as you can.”
  • His wife will be the first first lady that has posed for lesbian porn.

And with that last bullet in mind, do you really think for a minute that Trump opposes gay marriage?

Dr. Falwell, Pastor Jeffress, he is not the man you think he is. He is a salesman who will say exactly what you want to hear. And if you oppose him in the future, you will no longer be the great leaders he tells you that you are today—you will be Twittered to death as “stupid,” “losers” and “fools” whom he never liked in the first place. He will call you “pandering liars,” “hated,” “disgusting” and more. Get used to it. That is his M.O.

Donald is not Christian

He does not read the bible devotionally, but collects Bibles. He can’t quote a favorite verse. His pastor is the late Norman Vincent Peale! First of all, Mr. Peale is known far more for his “positive thinking” motivational books and speeches than he is for being a pastor. Second, Peale has been dead for 20 years! He was 95, and I am going to go out a limb and suggest he wasn’t pastoring Donald at that time. Who is his current pastor?

(You may be tempted to say, “we can’t judge.” Yet that’s what an election is! A time to judge each candidate based on their words and actions.)

When Trump announced that he was a Christian, he said, “People are so shocked when they find out.” Maybe that is because of the multiple affairs, the over-the-top personal attacks or maybe because he later went on to explain why he doesn’t ask God for forgiveness: “I am not sure I have [asked for forgiveness]. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don’t think [I’ve ever asked forgiveness]. I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t.”

Is it not troubling that man who has cheated on at least two former wives has never asked for forgiveness—from God or them? There is no such thing as a Christian who doesn’t ask God forgiveness.

A Better Option

Here is the point. There is another man in the race who:

  • is not afraid of Congress,
  • stands up to bullies,
  • is actually a committed evangelical believer,
  • holds the views that has made Trump the forerunner in the race,
  • will destroy ISIS,
  • will confront radical Islam,
  • will tear up the Iran deal,
  • will repeal Obamacare,
  • will deal with illegal immigration

Plus, unlike Trump, he will stand with Israel as a principled issue, whereas Trump will stand with Israel unless the Arabs make him a better deal.

Yes, he is the ultimate deal-maker. Don’t make a deal with the devil. I am voting for Ted Cruz. {eoa}
