Give Children in Haiti Some Hope This Christmas
Christmas is a time for giving. One of my earliest Christmas memories was giving some toys to a family in our church whose dad had lost his job. I shared this story at our Charisma Media Christmas banquet last week when I said that experience made an indelible impression on me as a child. Now as an adult, I annually try at Christmas to give an offering that’s at least 10 percent of what I spend on Christmas for others.
This week I received an email from my long-time friend Danita Estrella Watts. Her ministry Hope For Haiti was given a huge boost 15 years ago when we wrote an article in Charisma about how as a single woman she tried to help orphans in Haiti with virtually no support. The readers of Charisma generously donated more than $80,000, which turned out to be the seed money to help her get started.
Today, Hope For Haiti Children’s Center houses over 100 orphans and provides education to over 300 children. Over 18,000 meals are provided each month through the feeding program that employs 13 full-time missionaries and over 80 staff members.
At Christmas, I’m giving a generous offering to Danita’s Children and I encourage you to do the same. For more information on how to donate, please click on the link below, which will take you to her website.
Often, we raise the money through our nonprofit partner Christian Life Missions, but this time it is probably just easier and quicker to give directly to Danita’s Children and Hope For Haiti Children’s Center.
However, if anyone wants to give through Christian Life Missions, here is the address: 600 Rinehart Road, Lake Mary, Florida, 32746. We will pass along 100 percent of everything designated for her ministry to be sure that Danita gets it before Christmas.
