After Massive Jezebel Attack, Oprah Repents for Positive Trump Statement

Oprah Winfrey was not shy about her support of Hillary Clinton in the presidential race. No, not shy at all.

But she’s shying away from would-be calming comments in the wake of a traumatic presidential election that left many disillusioned and hurting.

Oprah, who claims to be a Christ-follower, is trying to be a peacemaker. And she’s being crucified for it.

Here’s the backstory in case you missed it: Oprah shared a photo of President-elect Donald Trump sitting with President Barack Obama and the caption: “Everybody take a deep breath! Hope lives.”

Oprah later told Entertainment Tonight that seeing Obama and Trump sitting together gave her hope.

“I just saw the two of them together, I will say this: I just saw President-elect Trump with President Obama in the White House and it gave me hope,” she said. “To hear President-elect Trump say that he had respect for President Obama, it felt that he had reached a moment where he was actually humbled by that experience.”

The backlash was mostly on Twitter, where Trump is seeing assassination threats rise.

While actress Heather Matarazzo wrote: “Oprah, you can take a deep breath and hold it while the rest of us literally fight for our lives right now. #smh.”

Actor Patton Oswalt tweeted: “Oprah what the [expletive]? This is not one of my favorite things.”

Scott Weinberg, film writer said: “I used to have great respect for Oprah. (past tense)”

With this, Oprah quickly backed down from her hopeful comments. She said she was wrong for telling everyone to take a breath.

“I couldn’t breathe after the election,” Winfrey told a Peltz Theater at the Museum of Tolerance audience. “My mistake, and this is what I know to be true, is that you can never talk about everybody. Don’t talk about ‘What you should do.’ You can only speak for yourself. What I should have said was, ‘I just took a breath.’ What I said was, ‘Everybody take a breath – #HopeLives.’ I thought to say, Civility Lives—because this was more civil than I expected it to be. Not, ‘Take a deep breath about … everything.’ No. Not at all.”

It’s shocking that unbiased peacemaking comments from a popular, outspoken pro-Hillary celebrity would draw such wrath. Shocking, that is, if you look at the natural instead of seeing into the spirit.

The spirit of Jezebel was dethroned in our government, but it’s still alive and well in the spirit realm. This principality is unleashing wicked witchcraft over anyone who suggests America might not go to hell in a handbasket under a Trump presidency.

Our words need to be laced with peace, love and unity right now, and we must not back down from that stance even if it’s not popular. Don’t let Jezebel intimidate you to stop working for peace and unity where the Holy Spirit leads you to share your heart. Let’s strive to be slow to speak, quick to listen and slow to anger. Let’s not read between the lines but truly listen. Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matt. 5:9).
