Anti-Trump demonstrators protest in front of the White House following Republican Donald Trump's election victory, in Washington.

Donald Trump Assassination Threats Blow Up Twitter

Share:

At least one prophetic voice has already come out with a stern warning about an assassination attempt on President-Elect Donald Trump’s life.

Not to be glib, but it doesn’t take a prophet to see that the Trump assassination theories have serious potential. Vandalism, calls for violence, protests and even riots are breaking out in the streets with chants of “Die, whites, die.”

I’ve been called names I forgot existed for releasing a word about the church rising up in a Jehu anointing and throwing Jezebel down, and it had nothing to do with Trump.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports this activity on Twitter.

“So who’s going to assassinate Trump at his inauguration?” one Twitter user demanded to know.

“I just pray that the first [expletive] who tries to assassinate Donald Trump don’t miss,” another added.

One joked: “My mom is talking about assassinate donald trump. watch out guy my white suburban mother is coming for you.”

While some also called for the death of Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

“If trump wins pls dont assassinate him without getting mike pence first because his [expletive] is [expletive] crazy,” one user tweeted.

While the First Amendment allows freedom of speech, death threats against political figures—particularly the next president of the United States are taken very seriously by security agencies.

This is shocking. I sincerely hope this is venting over dissatisfaction with election results. It also shows where we are as a nation—and a church, since many of the distasteful comments are coming from Christians.

I hope Michelle Smith, one of my dear friends and faithful intercessors, is right. She told me:

“This appears to be a pattern with some radical groups to intimidate those they do not agree with, some even through protest. As you saw on the news, many are protesting the election in large cities. Their signs are saying Trump is a racist. There is a spirit behind this anger and intimidation.”

I stand against racism. I want to see it eradicated from the earth. I stand against the strife I’m seeing in the body of Christ over this. I stand against violence and threats of assassination against anyone and everyone.

Whether we voted for Trump or not, the Bible commands us to pray for those in authority (1 Tim. 2:2). The Bible says that “there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God” (Rom. 13:1).

Whether we like Trump or not, God is still sovereign. God still has a plan. God is still all-powerful. This election and the future of our nation has never been about a man. Our provision and protection does not depend on a government. Seeing God’s will come to pass on Earth as it is in heaven is about an obedient, praying church being salt and light, reaching the lost and making disciples.

I pray the body of Christ would set aside the strife, which releases confusion and every evil work, choose to be slow to speak and slow to anger, decide to walk in love—and commit to praying for our governmental leaders and our nation unto a Third Great Awakening.

Who will join me?
