Miley Displays Artwork Showing Off False Gods All Over LA Home
I have a daughter about Miley Cyrus’ age—and that’s why I pray for Miley. I know it’s tough to be a Millennial. I know the temptations are real. I know Hollywood can turn you out if your faith is not turned up.
Even as rumors are turning up that Miley married Liam Hemsworth and the recent comparisons between Donald Trump’s Tiffany and the pop star, I was shocked when a publicist emailed me about Miley commissioning Mister E, a Miami-based artist known for his colossal and colorful interpretations of U.S. currency, to create wall space installations throughout her Studio City home.
According to the publicist, whose name is Kat, Miley wanted to “blow people’s minds” with Mister E’s creative twist on art.
That’s not really troubling in and of itself. What grieves me is the actual artwork. Dubbed the #MONEYWALL project, Cyrus came up with the idea after she presented Mister E with blank canvas walls that needed a dose of innovation. His thoughts were to build something that was ever-changing and that Miley’s friends, family and other visitors could be directly involved in.

As the publicist tells it, he printed thousands of actual sized currency, and used this as a method for viewers to write a name or message and stick it to the wall. That way, he figured, the installation would not only be interactive, but also allow people to connect and build memories.
Mister E also restored a vintage safe for Miley to house all of the money, and presented her with a gift, a gold key engraved with both of their names. This permanent installation stands from three walls in her living room spanning through the powder room.
Miley posted a photo of herself on Instagram against one of the rainbow-money-lined walls, captioned by some choice language we can’t print in a Christian magazine. Of course, this is not the first time Miley has done something shameful on Instagram—or on stage or in a video.
Miley took raunchy to a whole new level at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2013, stripping down to flesh-colored rubber underwear, ultra-obscene twerking and other erotic moves on stage with Robin Thicke. Her perverted performance made Beyonce’s controversial Super Bowl dance look tame and Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction appear rather innocent.
Just after the chatter about Miley Cyrus’ soft-porn twerking at MTV’s Video Music Awards died down, the former child star left jaws hanging near the ground once again by stripping naked, straddling a wrecking ball and suggestively licking a sledgehammer in her video, “Wrecking Ball.” Going for shock value to create a media frenzy, Miley pushed well beyond anything Madonna or Lady Gaga have done in their most perverse performances.
This latest installation demonstrates her support for gay rights and seemingly her love of money. I figure you’d really have to enjoy money to plaster your walls with rainbow currency. The Bible says the love of money is a root of all evil (1 Tim. 6:10) so I hope this speaks more to her eccentric tastes in art than it does her adoration of mammon.
As for Miley, my prayer is that she will be like the prodigal son and return to her Father’s embrace. God is just waiting to see her come running over the hill. Let’s pray Miley—and every other prodigal we’re praying for—finds her way home soon.
