C. Peter Wagner

Peter Wagner Was Truly One of God’s Generals

Share:

I only met C. Peter Wagner in person one time, but he shaped my thinking about the apostolic, spiritual warfare and deliverance. I honored him in life and I honor him in passing, as are many others in a movement he helped steward so well during his lifetime.

C. Peter Wagner went home to be with the Lord on Friday. Memorials are flooding in. Here are just a few:

Cindy Jacobs: Peter Wagner Was One of God’s Generals

Peter Wagner was one of God’s great generals. One if the most prolific Christian writers in modern-day times, he clearly made a mark in history that few have attained.

Today, I have been on the phone with those he considered to be his sons and daughters. All of us have a story, whether it is Ed Salvos, Lance Wallnau, Ché Ahn, Chuck Pierce, Rebecca Greenwood, his own daughter and author, Becky Systema, or me. None of us would be where we are now without his wisdom, guidance and promotion.

He was an innovator in church growth, helped give a major jumpstart to John Wimber and the healing movement, as well as led the way for the apostolic and prophetic movements. He went to heaven, but left an indelible mark on the body of Christ. We have stood on his shoulders and are honored to have done so.

Becca Greenwood: Peter Was a True Apostle

Greg and I have cried and laughed. Most of all we are so grateful. Peter, you are a true apostle, a true pioneer and father in the faith. You have championed, believed in, encouraged, pushed us beyond comfort zones, taught us to follow after the Lord and our calling in purity of purpose, great focus, strong faith. You taught us the importance of being humble, teachable, full of love, full of life. And to have fun and love prime steak houses.

You and Doris have impacted the nations of the world. You are true generals in the faith. You have loved so many so well. You have loved us so well. For that we are forever grateful. Thank You, Lord, for the privilege and honor to run with and serve this couple. Peter, Greg and I are running the race. We would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for you and Doris.

Your legacy will continue for generations and generations. I can only imagine how beautiful and wonderful your entrance into glory was. You finished the race so well. We so love you. #grateful #tearsofgratitude #legacy

Chuck Pierce: Peter Was One of the Greatest Molders of Modern Church History

One of the greatest molders of modern church history, Dr. C. Peter Wagner, fully transitioned into the presence of the LORD at 2:30 p.m. today, Oct. 21, 2016. Please keep Doris and the rest of the family in your prayers. When more details become available, we will share them with you.

James Goll: Peter Wagner Impacted My Thinking

This dear man of God, C. Peter Wagner, graduated to his heavenly reward. In my own spiritual journey, Peter Wagner impacted my thinking and modeled a constant child like heart before the Lord every learning more and more and more.

I will never forget the day that at a small gathering of prophets, Peter got up and came and laid his hands on me and pronounced the spirit of adoption. Wow! Peter has been one of my personal and ministry advisers for the last several years and I had the honor of being one of the remaining original instructors in the Wagner Leadership Institute which Ché Ahn is the International Chancellor today. Thank you for a life well-lived. Your passing is a demarcation in church history. Our prayers are with his amazing wife, Doris and their family. Love You Peter.
