Should We Believe This Clinton-Supporting Mormon’s ‘Prophecy’ Over America?

U.S. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton walks off her plane as she arrives in Burbank, Los Angeles

There is no lack of prophetic words about Donald Trump taking up residence in the White House. Kim Clement seems to have originated this prophecy long before this election cycle.

The rubber will soon meet the proverbial road, and we’ll find out who’s really hearing from God.

Beyond the Christian prophets, though, a Mormon media “prophet” is rising up with predictions of his own. That Mormon is none other than Glenn Beck, who lifts up his voice against Trump at every turn.

“It saddens me that our fellow Christian leaders don’t see the long lasting effect here,” Beck wrote in a Facebook post Monday. “I agree with the evangelical leader in the interview when he says this will be harder to overcome than the televangelist scandals in the 80’s. I pray he is wrong but fear he is correct. We are going to need all hands on deck—all people of real faith.”

Some would argue Beck is not a person of real faith, with his Mormon beliefs. Others point to his long-standing battle for conservative values as common ground with Christianity and dismiss the differences. Still others claim he has given his life to Jesus Christ and Him only.

Whatever your opinion of Beck—and however it’s changed during this election cycle, he’s prophesying hard and strong over America right now.

“Persecution is coming. The only way to it is to humble ourselves and repent. When we do that, we can turn our face to God and He will heal our land,” Beck says. “Because we will not do it, He will humble us. He knows persecution is good for ‘the Church.’ China is on fire. Why? For the same reason I have been so humbled with those Christians in the Middle East. They know what is worth living for and what is worth dying or.”

Beck claims the church in China has been praying for us to be humbled so we would return to the America the world expects and needs. Then he points to Romans 8:28.

“I would not wish the last 16 years on my worst enemy,” Beck wrote. “What America has gone through over this short time span has been globally life-changing and it promises to only get worse. But because of our hardships and our opposition we are better people.”

With that, he vowed to fight for the Constitution and live for its eternal principles. Then he makes a huge plug—and a massively false statement—for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“The Mormons are following the teachings of Christ. Because He is our Savior. He is yours too. No matter what your leadership is doing, follow Him and lead others to the living waters,” Beck says. “Be different. Don’t follow the crowd over the cliff.”

Although my head is not in the sand, I am buying into the mercy of God that triumphs over judgment. I’m not going to follow pro-abortion, anti-Christian Hillary over a cliff.

I wonder, what would happen if we started blessing our nation instead of cursing it?
