When Will Revival Happen?

It’s obvious to believers that things are out of control in the United States of America. However, this is not an article about how terrible things have become. I am declaring it’s time for all who believe that Jesus Christ is Lord to rise up and take our place as those who are in charge.

I don’t think a change in political leaders is the way for change to happen. I’m not against having believers in political office. I’m all for moral and ethical leaders.

Revival will begin when we realize we are carrying the answer to cultural change.

Let me use the example of the parting of the Red Sea for the children of Israel. Exodus 14 has the entire story.

Things looked bad for the freed slaves. The army of Pharaoh was pursuing them in order to annihilate all of them and the army was close. The children of Israel were not trained soldiers and they were blocked from escape by a large body of water.

People were afraid and they begin to blame their leaders for their problems. They said it would be better if things could return to the “old times”. Back when they were slaves.

“But Moses said to the people, ‘Fear not! Stand firm! And see the salvation of the Lord, which He will show you today. For the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see again. The Lord shall fight for you, while you hold your peace'” (Ex. 14:13-14).

Moses expected God to come to their rescue but God had a different plan.

“The Lord said to Moses, ‘Why do you cry out to Me? Speak to the children of Israel, so that they go forward. And as for you, lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it; then the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea” (Ex. 14:15-16).

God told Moses to take charge and continue on with the original plan.

In Exodus 3:10 God told Moses, “Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh so that you may bring forth My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” His plan included co-laboring and co-ruling in order to complete the work that was started.

It’s the same today. The cry for revival was answered 2000 years ago on the cross. That part is finished!

When we ask “When will revival happen?”, God is asking the same question.

“Why are you crying out to me? Take the authority My Son has given you and bring revival to the nations.”

His authority is based on love. Learn to love God with all your heart, mind and strength and you will love your neighbor as you are loved.

Let us be the revival we have been asking for. It will happen. After all, God wants it more than we do.
