10 Prayers Every Believer Should Pray at Their Polling Place

As Christians stand divided on how to proceed this Election Day, Inverness Vineyard Church Pastor Bubba Justice says there are 10 essential prayers every believer needs to pray at their polling place.

“If every Christian in the (U.S.) prayed these prayers at the polling place, then we can see God move on our behalf,” Justice says.

During a time of church prayer, Justice says he strongly felt the Holy Spirit impress these Scriptures upon his heart.

He shared them first on Facebook with his congregation and now here:

1. James 4:2-3: “Yet you do not have, because you do not ask. You ask, and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your passions.”

Father, I ask that You would place into the presidency who You want in the presidency. Let the men and women who vote here vote based on Your will.

2. Matthew 6:10: “Your kingdom come; Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”

Father, let Your Kingdom come now in this place. Let Your will be done right here at this polling place.

3. John 10:4-5: “When he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them. And the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him. For they do not know the voice of strangers.”

Father, speak to every Christian as they vote and give them courage to obey Your voice as they complete their ballot.

4. 1 Timothy 4:1-2: “Now the Spirit clearly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith and pay attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their consciences seared with a hot iron.”

In Jesus’ name we take authority over every deceiving spirit. We declare that when people vote in this place they will not be influenced by deceiving spirits.

5. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5: “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

In Jesus’ name we bring into captivity every argument and thoughts that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We destroy the enemy’s strong places.

6. James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without criticism, and it will be given to him.”

Father, as people vote, give them a generous amount of wisdom as to who to vote for.

7. 1 Corinthians 12:10: “To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.”

God, give Your people the gift of discernment that when they vote they will know which candidates they vote for.

8. Proverbs 29:2: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.”

Father place the righteous into authority and or those who listen to the righteous.

9. Ephesians 5:10-14: “Proving what is pleasing to the Lord. And do not have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness; instead, expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things are exposed when they are revealed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore He says: ‘Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.'”

Father, expose everything that is evil. Keep any evil intention from coming to pass in the place where we vote. Lord expose to the light everything that is not from You.

10. Daniel 9:19: “O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not defer, for Your own sake, O my God. For Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”

Father forgive us and have mercy on us. In Jesus’ name I pray.
