Newt Gingrich Reminds Media Who Violated the Public Trust
During a recent appearance on FOX News Channel’s On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich exposed not only the bias within the mainstream media, but also the very stark differences between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
Asked about the difference in coverage the Gold Star families featured at the Republican and Democratic national conventions, Gingrich said, “Anybody who has been watching this campaign knows that at least 80 percent of the elite media is in the tank for Hillary. Just look at the coverage right now.”
Gingrich said Clinton was “deliberately lying” about the FBI investigation when she appeared on FOX News Sunday last weekend. He noted even the anti-Donald Trump Washington Post had to admit she was “deliberately lying.”
“She’s lying about 50-some thousand emails,” he said. “She’s lying about national security. Why shouldn’t she apologize? If Donald Trump owes anybody an apology, how come Hillary doesn’t owe the whole country an apology?”
The hostess then asked if both Clinton and Trump owe the country an apology.
“I think Trump would be better off in the long run to apologize and get it behind him, but he’s a stubborn guy,” he said. “I think part of his point is that Mr. Khan went to a political convention and said some very nasty things. He did not make sort of a soft presentation. He accused Trump of some nasty things.
“So, Trump’s stubborn, but he didn’t delete 33,000 emails. Trump didn’t send out secret information. Trump didn’t lie about the FBI. Hillary did all that stuff. And, if you looked at Peter Schweizer’s piece in the Wall Street Journal, there’s evidence [the Clintons] were dealing with the Russians, there’s evidence the Secretary of State—she approved things that helped the Russian military.
“I mean, the number of things the news media could be excited by, if they were willing to take this very seriously, is unbelievable. But the only thing the elite media wants to do is go after Donald Trump.”
