Will Trump Campaign’s Prominent New Hires Help Him Beat Hillary
Tuesday morning, Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting Donald Trump announced three key hires to his campaign’s leadership team.
Over the weekend, campaign chairman Paul Manafort had promised several announcements this week as the Trump Train rolled out its new team members. These three new hires are part of the transition from the businessman’s non-conventional primary campaign to a more traditional general election operation.
They are:
- Jason Miller, Senior Communications Adviser—he will work with the existing team to build out a full Communications Department and to “ensure messaging coordination and implementation.” He has managed campaigns and shaped messages for successful House, Senate and gubernatorial races, in addition to serving on the senior staffs of two presidential campaigns.
- Michael Abboud, Communications Coordinator—he will work to “execute the campaign’s rapid response and daily messaging,” and provide candidate briefings on daily news and breaking stories. He formerly worked with the Republican National Committee’s Communications Department.
- Alan Cobb, Director of Coalitions—he will organize and manage the numerous coalition groups that currently support, and will support, Trump’s campaign. He has been serving as a senior adviser on the Trump campaign, and in the past he has managed statewide, political and issue campaigns, served as the Deputy State Director for U.S. Sens. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) and Sheila Frahm (R-Kan.), and served as a campaign adviser to the 2014 campaigns of Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) and Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.).
“As we continue to work to defeat Hillary Clinton this November, I am constantly building a superior political team,” Trump said. “After winning the most votes in the history of a Republican primary contest, we are taking our messages to the people so that we can Make American Great Again.”
