Is This the Biggest ‘Fake News’ Story of the Trump Administration So Far?
On Easter Sunday, a liberal activist blatantly lied about President Donald Trump in a particularly vicious way.
Liberals picked up the lie and ran with it, even after it was thoroughly debunked—by of all possible sources, the liberal mainstream media—demonstrating once again that their hatred for our nation’s duly elected leader trumps (pun intended) all reason. Of course, not even the instigator felt any kind of remorse for the lie, either.
It all started when pollster Matt McDermott, who is a “senior analyst” at Whitman Insight Strategies, posted the following on Twitter:
The Obama’s spent every Easter attending church service. Trump hasn’t attended church once since his inauguration. Where’s the GOP outrage?
Bad punctuation and grammar aside, the truth of the matter is that the president, First Lady Melania Trump, and his two youngest children, Barron and Tiffany, attended church services that morning at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, which is situated nearby his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Their attendance at church was documented by no fewer than 30 mainstream media outlets.
In fact, the president started his first full day in office at a church service, followed by an ecumenical prayer service. The particular church where he attended Easter services is the same church where he married Melania and where Barron was christened.
When faced with the facts from an angry supporter of the president, McDermott simply responded that she “has a lot of feelings.” The original tweet, however, was retweeted nearly 35,800 times and received 73,000 likes.
Then again, McDermott’s description on his Twitter account states “resistance is the best medicine,” so should we really be surprised? During the 2016 presidential election, his account carried a banner image of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.).
And, his boss, pollster Bernard Whitman, wrote the book 52 Reasons to Vote for Hillary. {eoa}
