The ‘Assassination With Words’ Continues Against President Trump
Need more proof the left is planning to assassinate President Donald Trump—through words or, if that fails, physically? Jim Bakker told Charisma Media founder Steve Strang about the left’s plan in Monday’s podcast interview.
Shortly after that interview was posted online, The Washington Post reported the president shared highly classified information with Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov during their meeting last week. That report stated:
The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.
The partner had not given the United States permission to share the material with Russia, and officials said Trump’s decision to do so endangers cooperation from an ally that has access to the inner workings of the Islamic State. After Trump’s meeting, senior White House officials took steps to contain the damage, placing calls to the CIA and the National Security Agency.
As usual, there were lots of “unnamed sources” in the article. Democrats and the rest of the compliant liberal mainstream media quickly picked up on the story—and the new, seriously damaging narrative it produced—in a big way.
As the ultra-liberal Center for American Progress—founded by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign chairman, John Podesta—stated:
Donald Trump disclosed highly classified intelligence from an American ally to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador during an in-person meeting at the White House last Wednesday. This news comes one week after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, who was leading an investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to the hostile power.
Trump’s disclosure “jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State,” the Post reports, and could put American lives at risk.
Just 10 months ago, Republican leaders like House Speaker Paul Ryan claimed that “individuals who are ‘extremely careless’ with classified information should be denied further access to that type of information” in reaction to the Hillary Clinton email scandal. Trump himself characterized disclosing classified information as “un-American.”
CAP called on congressional Republicans, who have shown a disturbingly weak spine when it comes to criticism from the left, to authorize a “special prosecutor” investigation. It urged its supporters, in an email obtained by Charisma Caucus, to begin harassing GOP senators and congressmen with phone calls, emails, letters and social media posts.
There’s just one problem. Like many of these other attempts at “assassination with words” employed by liberals, there doesn’t appear to be any truth to WaPo’s report. One person who was named in the article—National Security Adviser Army Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster—has vehemently denied the story.
“At no time were any intelligence sources or methods discussed, and no military operations were disclosed that were not already known publicly,” he stated.
Rather, it appears that the “unnamed sources” shared highly classified information with WaPo’s reporters. That would be the very illegal activity they’ve claimed the president engaged in.
Tuesday morning, the president hit back at the reports, as usual, on Twitter:
As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism.
He later added:
I have been asking Director Comey & others, from the beginning of my administration, to find the LEAKERS in the intelligence community.
Now more than ever, this president needs your prayers. As Bakker noted on Monday, it’s time for the church to rise up and speak out, and to cry out for God’s protective hand.
