According to law enforcement sources, Ahmad Khan Rahami, the 28-year-old Afghani-born U.S. citizen wanted in connection with the New York City-area bombings over the weekend, is now in police custody.

Rahami was involved in a shootout with police in Linden, N.J., that left two officers with non-life-threatening injuries. One was shot in his bulletproof vest, while the other sustained injuries due to glass shrapnel.

Rahami was also injured when he was shot in the leg. Local police say he is being transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Afghan-born American was linked to the Chelsea, Manhattan, N.Y., bombing that injured 29 on Saturday. All of those who were injured have reportedly been released from area hospitals after receiving treatment.

The FBI also believes he is connected to a set of pipe bombs that were detonated by a police robot on Sunday night not far from Rahami’s home in Elizabeth, N.J., as well as a pipe bomb attack at a Marine Corps charity event in Seaside Park, N.J. on Saturday morning. Cell phone detonators used in all of the bombs have been linked to him.
