Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal announced on Wednesday that he is running for president in 2016, launching a tough battle from the bottom of a full pack of Republican candidates.
Once seen as a rising Republican star, Jindal has struggled recently with a fiscal crisis in his state. He frequently ranks near the bottom end of opinion polls of Republicans seeking the party’s nomination in the November 2016 election.
