President Barack Obama met with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, D.C., on Monday. The president urged Netanyahu “to give diplomacy and economic sanctions a chance to work before resorting to military action,” according to The New York Times. White House officials said the meeting was “friendly, straightforward and serious,” but it did not resolve issues between the two leaders about how to handle the Iranian threat of nuclear weapons.
